Show report:
We had a very fun day and a successful turnout in spite of some of the worst weather across the southeast US in years on Friday!

The only vendors who cancelled were local Jax people (go figure)! The vendors from Ohio, Chicago, Atlanta, and Pensacola made it, so their side was still quite crowded.

We had (officially) 98 registrants and 498 models entered on the tables. We also had about 4 tables of "display models", making for well over 500 models in the room. There were 2 seminars given; one on the history of aviation boxart, and one on how to do diorama groundwork/water/ice/snow.

The Judges Grand Award went to a 1/35 M1126 Stryker with a complete equipment load-out and PE additions, built by Andy Renshaw of Gainsville Fl. The best Junior model was the Bizmark by Jake Maschberger. The Most Popular model was a WWII eastern front diorama titled "SS Winter Warriors", in 1/35 complete with a Stuka flying over! The Mike Goins Memorial award went to John Sims Frienship 7 space capsule. That's just the highlights, as there were many many other inspiring builds in the room. Heck, I almost went hoarse just announcing some 400 awards!

The first 100+ pics (with more to come) have already been posted (give it a few secs for the Fotki slideshow to begin). I'd post some pics myself, except that despite remembering my camera, I never had time to take a single pic!

I want to thank all of the folks who made the show yesterday, and especially everyone who volunteered to judge the 100+ categories and Special Awards! Hope you can make it again next year!

Cheers! Gil
